Our expertise in custom plasters means you don’t have to become an expert, too. We will work with you to find the perfect color and texture for your project.

The two main types of plasters we install are lime and clay. Each has its own character and benefits. Read on if you’d like to know more, or contact us if you’d just like to get started.

Lime Plaster Finishes

Derived from limestone, lime plaster is a strong, durable wall-covering option with mold-resistant and hypoallergenic properties. Once installed, lime plaster cures, absorbing Co2 from the air, and effectively becoming limestone on the wall. We mainly use Earthaus© bagged plasters, which are produced in the US. We custom mix our colors and can match most paint colors.

Stone

This medium-grain lime plaster is the most versatile. It can be matte and suede-like, or polished to a medium sheen. It can be smooth or textured,.

Sand

This coarser-grain lime plaster can be textured or semi-smooth, imparting an old-world feel. It is matte and suede-like with a “cloudy” finish.

Marble

This is the finest-grain lime plaster, which can be polished to a high sheen. It is similar to what most people think of as “Venetian” plaster.

Tadelakt

Traditional tadelakt is an age-old Moroccan technique that requires unique knowledge and skill. The complex process of polishing and sealing natural lime plaster creates a seamless, water-resistant surface. The finish is very smooth, with no raised texture or grout lines. It’s a sensuous alternative to tiled shower walls and backsplashes.  More about tadelakt

Clay Plaster Finishes

Clay plaster’s beauty and sustainability are unrivaled. Clay plasters are softer than conventional plasters and are relatively easy to repair. Clay plaster also outperforms conventional wall coverings by regulating humidity, promoting better indoor air quality. Although we often make our own clay plasters, we are also trained installers of American Clay ©, a ready-mixed clay plaster manufactured in New Mexico.
